DIY Dollar Tree Bottle

I'm back with another project I did.  I found this cute bottle at the Dollar Tree.  I thought I could do something cute with it.  I am very pleased with how it turned out!  I wish I would have gotten another one.

I also got that mirror at Dollar Tree, but I am not finished with it yet.  For the bottle I used: Old Town chalk paint (two coats), Painter's Touch clear coat, twine, gold leaf syrup graphic, sand paper, and a stain marker.

Here is the graphic I used.  To get that "old" effect tear it, don't cut it.

Pretty easy actually, did two coats of chalk paint, Mod Podged the label on, aged it with the stain pen, nicked it with sand paper, and clear coated the whole thing.

If I like how the mirror turns out I might do a post on that, too.  :)  Blessings, Morgan

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

I once was lost but now I'm found

Was blind but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear

And grace my fears relieved

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed

When we've been there ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun

We've no less days to sing God's praise

Then when we first begun.

Movie Review: Risen

Guys, this movie was so good!  I have seen it twice already and I thought it would be nice to do a little review for you all.  If you haven't heard of it, Risen is a story of a Roman solider who is on a mission to find the missing body of Jesus.  Only, we all know Jesus wasn't missing, He has risen from the dead!

I loved that this movie wasn't cheesy at all.  It had a great script, awesome music, and they were all filthy.  Yes, with dirt and dust on them, but that is what made it so believable and real.  Two of my favorite characters (besides Jesus) were Simon Peter and Bartholomew.  Peter (he was called Simon mostly) was perfect, the casting, the look.  He was Peter.  And Bartholomew, he was so funny and lighthearted.

There were some great quotes in there too, but I don't want to spoil it so I will remain silent on the matter. :)  Let's talk about the main character.

Clavius

Clavius, also called Tribune, is the main character.  He was there when Jesus was on the cross and he also helped move the stone in to place in front of the tomb.  When he hears that Jesus is gone, he digs up the dead to look for Jesus...

I really liked Clavius.   He was real and authentic...as was the whole movie.  This movie gives you faith and makes you want to go out into the world and spread the good news that Jesus is not in the grave, HE IS ALIVE!!  This movie shows us how one man comes to the light of salvation.

I totally recommend this movie guys.  It's still in theaters if you would like to see it.   This movie was very creative in a new approach to the Easter story of God's Son dying for our sins and rising again.

Content:  It is PG-13.  There is no bad language.  Some drinking of wine.  Some blood shed (battle, the crucifixion and a cut on the leg).

GODS NOT DEAD HE'S SURELY ALIVE!!!!

Libraries and Comfy Chairs

Hello everyone!  So I have come to share with you all some lovely libraries I found on Pinterest and some comfy, cute looking chairs to go with it.  Though not all of them look like they "go together".  I hope you enjoy looking through the photos.  :)

So rustic and charming.

This one has elegant written all over it.

Ahh I love it!

YES!  But I would probably not have the books on the floor.  I like everything nice and neat. :)

If you are going to have one why not put in a secret door?

This one is so quaint and cozy.

Beast's library perhaps?  I LOVE it!!

As you can tell I really like the dark ones with wood and leather. :)

Yup.  I love it.

Here's one a bit brighter.  So pretty!

And of course the winding stairs.  (sounds a bit like Gollum to me, "The winding stairs".)

I love tufted chairs.  And this one you can recline on if you so desire.

Ahh so stinking cute!!  I love the material and body shape.

Of course, I have to have my leather in there. :)

How convenient this one already has some books nearby.

It's so fluffy!  And it has a nice pink blanket to curl up with.

Love the blue!

Super cute.  Has some refreshment and books handy.

I thought this one was really cute and spunky.  Love the little touches of color.

And that's it everyone!  Thanks for checking it out!  Blessings!

Which library was your favorite? (it can be more than one.:))

Which chair did you think was the comfiest looking?

Which chair was the cutest?

Book Haul!

So Christian Book Distributors a couple of weeks ago were having a book sale.  Lot's of the books were really great deals, so I got the eight you see above.  I have read four of them and I am working on a fifth.  The ones I have read so far are:  Where Trust Lies by Janette Oke, So Shines the Night by Tracy L. Higley, Forever Friday by Timothy Lewis, and Sooner Sunset by Janet Lee Barton.

Have any of you guys read any of the Heartsong Presents books?  They are really cute, short, and sweet love stories.

Speaking of which...

Remind you of someone???

Scary how much they look alike!

I have already read this one, Promise of Time.  But, is it just me, or does he look like Richard Armitage?  I think he does!  I kind of freaked out when I saw that.

Any who, I hope you guys liked this little book haul.  Have you read any of these?   Blessings!

My Project

Hello everyone!  I'd like to share with you the project I did this last week.  I have this box thing... it might be considered a sort of shadow box, but I'm not sure.  Anyways, I got it at a garage sale and I have been using it to hold some old papers and such.  So I decided I was going to give it a makeover.

Here she is.  Just a big thing to hold whatever I fancy.

Now, I didn't take any pictures of the process, but I will give you an idea of what happened.  So I first sanded most of it lightly. Then I decided to paint it a light pink, but that didn't work out.  So I switched to blue.

I thought it would look cool with a picture on the inside. I went onto The Graphics Fairy, who has a bunch of cool pictures, and selected a pretty girl with a big hat.  I found out how to put paper pictures onto wood via the internet.  You just use Modge Podge. I did that and waited a bit to take the paper off the back, using a spray bottle of water, like I read to do.  It wasn't turning out how I hoped so I let it sit over night.

Then I sprayed some more water on it in the morning, gently scraping the paper off the back with a soft rag.  Finally, adding a clear coat and using a screw driver with a flat head to nick it a little bit to give it that old finished look.

Ta da!!

I promise she was a lot prettier, but the process I think, makes her look more aged.  Which works!

 What I put inside. :)

What do you think?  I love it!  Let me know if you would like to see more posts like this. Thanks for checking it out!
